The tour is unique and one of the few mythological experiences for visitors to Ireland, it brings the inner child out in everyone that does it, young or old a story works for our imagination and this story is crafted to fire our fantasy of another world but with all the ingredients to enthral, a sacred river, an elusive fish, magic hazelnuts, a crafty old druid and a young superhero to save Ireland…. With eating involved as well, the appetite is also stimulated by the serving up of a delicious piece of freshly cooked Irish salmon…and being at the place where it supposedly took place, the river Boyne, the visitor gets taken away for two hours from the present to the magical past….
The story perfectly aligns with Ireland’s Ancient East and fulfils its promise completely, there is a superb connection with our past, the Boyne valley is steeped in Ireland’s history and this story is the most famous local legend of the area so to be able to tell it in this way to visitors will add yet another fantastic item on the heritage tourism menu.
The Guide, Gerard Meade, is a local person who has studied this legend for many years and as a former chef decided to use his top class cooking skills to provide the tastiest piece of cooked Irish salmon for visitors to sample. This experience is personally guided in full. Gerard lived and worked in France as a chef and the experience is fully available in both English and French.
